Alishan Ecocenter is situated in the Alishan Forest Recreation Area. The site includes the Taiwan Pleione nature reserve and Tashan and Lulinshan Major Wildlife Habitats. The Forestry Bureau staff members have participated in environmental monitoring and resource survey in the reserve for a long period of time. They also conduct habitat restoration for Alishan salamander and Taiwan Pleione. Over the years, work has been successful. In order for people to understand the importance of reserve habitats and species preservation, the theme for the story house is preservation of the species of Alishan salamander and Taiwan Pleione. We explain the procedures and results of the research work to visitors.

■Alishan Forestry Railway, the "Shizilu-Alishan" section is not yet open to traffic.
■"Chiayi - Shizilu" section: go up the mountain from Chiayi to Shizilu at 9:00 am, and go down the mountain from Shizilu at 13:50. On holidays, an additional bus will go up the mountain at 9:30 and go down the mountain at 13:00.
■For detailed ticket booking methods and timetables, please visit the Alishan Forestry Railway website booking system https://afrts.forest.gov.tw/TP01_1.aspx or call Beimen Station for inquiries: 05-2768094.
■ Travelers can go to Fenchihu or Shizilu Station to transfer to Chiayi County Bus to Alishan Forest Recreation Area.
