The Nan'ao Ecological Education Center and the Nan'ao Station of the Yilan Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Administration are located in the same building. In 1997, the Nan'ao Station relocated here, transforming the original camphor tree afforestation site into a native plant specimen garden. The Nan'ao Ecological Education Center was established next to the main office building, serving as an educational resource for interpreting and explaining themes related to Taiwan's forest resource utilization and ecological conservation.

The plants in the park are planned according to the plant classification system. Currently, there are 120 species in 47 families, mainly woody plants, supplemented by vines and herbs. It is an excellent venue for extracurricular teaching for middle and elementary schools in Yilan County, and even schools in the northern region.
